Nice machine... only gotcha is the Thunderbolt-3 port only has 1/2 the PCIe lanes... so 1/2 the bandwidth. Only really an issue for a high demand use like an external GPU... and with a 1050 internally its GPU isn't bad.

Not to thread crap, but for $700 less you can get a 4k Dell with an older video card and a 128gb SSD and 1tb HDD for $899.99, no thunderbolt port but most people don't need that.. Just food for thought. Also can get three year protection plan with accidental damage for only $89... Good deal!~

It's an Inspiron, not a XPS.

There's something (good) weird about this deal. Best Buy is selling it for $1999 and other places are selling the same around that price point. The model # is XPS9560-7001SLV:

I reserved one at Microcenter and went to pick it up today. Before getting the laptop, I browsed the Dell area to get a better look. Lo and behold, there were two different ones on display. The $1599 one had similar specs, but had only 2GB video RAM. The 4GB version was $1899 ($100 off). The SKU for the $1599 one was 230300 and the $1899 one was slightly different.

Needless to say I was disappointed. I was going to talk to a sales rep, but there was only one guy and he was busy with someone else; so I went to the online pickup area. I checked the box and it was labeled as the 1050-4GB version. So I had the guy ring it up and it was actually $1599! Even better, I got home and discovered that this one had the fingerprint sensor as well!

I looked at the box, and the Dell sticker listed the specs. But the Microcenter label (with the price and barcode) still had the SKU of the lesser model.

I don't know if I'm missing something here, but others have reported similar success. At that price point, I think this is a VERY good deal!
