2nd generation processor. This whole computer should probably be ~ $150.

The simple truth is that I don't buy computers or external/flash drives that aren't USB 3.

Life's too short... seriously.

Love how they always conveniently forget to mention it's a 2nd gen i5 in the title... like it doesn't much matter. Seen a number of 3K and even 4k systems for around the same price or little more.

Can someone explain what kind of noticeable difference there is using 2nd generation i5 compared to current generation i5?  The benchmark or passmark speed for these units are pretty decent.  I'm not considering using these for any video games... I don't have time for that..

A lot less efficient. It uses more power, thus generates more heat, and therefore needs noisier fans.
However, that's only noticeable when you're stressing they system. If you're just surfing the net, it's not an issue.
The built-in graphics are also a lot weaker. However, if you're not playing video games, that shouldn't be an issue either.

Then again, if you're just surfing the net, why buy an i5? An i3 from any generation will work just as well. You should be able to find one on eBay for $100 or so.

At $190, the computer is overpriced. I got a 3rd gen i5 with 1 TB HDD and 8 GB memory for $120 (incl shipping) on eBay. That was last year. By now they should be even cheaper.

What I have noticed is stuttering with netflix or unable to drive HD video from Vudu for example.  Have to stream in SD.  That is with using a wired ethernet connection also.
