NOTE 0: There is a new Office Depot OfficeMax Rewards program that begins on 07/01/2017. This offer appears to straddle the end of the old Rewards program and the beginning of the new Rewards Program. Purchases from 06/25/2017 - 06/30/2017 should qualify for the old Rewards program. Purchases on 07/01/2017 should qualify for the new Rewards Program.

The terms of the old Rewards program can be found at: http://www.officedepot.com/a/content/loyalty/rewardtermsandcondi...

The terms for the new Rewards program have not been released yet. There is a thread discussing the new Rewards program at: https://www.fatwallet.com/forums/deal-discussion/1568509

The terms of the old Rewards program do not apply if you are in a pilot progam or the Business Rewards program. The pilots I know of are for the Dallas area and the Denver/Nashville areas. Please see your Rewards account for the terms and conditions for those programs. I expect that the pilots will be converted into the new Rewards program as of 07/01/2017.

----------

Notes for the old Rewards program:

Note 1: This is a percentage back in Bonus Rewards offer. Percentage back in rewards offers pay out in points which are subject to 1000 point / $10 payout increments. The percentage back in Bonus Rewards points will be noted in the "Purchase Details" of the transaction in the Rewards Account "Purchase History" when the transactions posts which should be a day or two after the order ships. The Rewards Certificates from all points offers will be made available in the middle of the month in the month following the purchase.

Example: Assume a purchase price of $14.89 each. A purchase of one pack at $14.89 earns 1489 points which will result in $10 in Rewards and no carryover as June is the end of quarter. A purchase of two packs at $14.89 each earns 2978 points which will result in $20 in Rewards and no carryover as June is the end of quarter.

Note 2: Non paid out points carry over from month to month till the end of the quarter. If you purchase in June, the end of the quarter is 06/30/2017 so there will be no carry over to July. If you purchase in July, please see the "Notes for the new Rewards program below.

Note 3: Per the terms of the program, Rewards earned -- and hence Rewards payouts -- are reduced by the extent the rewards purchase is paid for with Rewards, coupons or Merchandise Cards.

Note 4: Do not purchase stamps in the same transaction. (See post #171 in the thread: http://slickdeals.net/f/8461633)

----------

Notes for the new Rewards program:

Note 1: The terms and conditions of the new Rewards program have not been released. The new Rewards program is being advertised as "All rewards paid out. Whether you earn $100 or a penny, you get rewarded." so apparently there are no payout points increments as in the old Rewards program. One other main difference is that Rewards are paid out quarterly.

----------

TERMS: Bonus Rewards: 100% Back in Rewards on Select G2 Pens: Valid in-store, online, by phone or fax from 6/25/17 – 7/1/17 11:59 PM ET or while supplies last, whichever occurs first. Limit 2 offers per member. This offer cannot be combined with other Bonus Reward offers on the same or similar products and services.

The deal in this thread is a back in Rewards offer: Pay now, get Rewards back later. If purchasing in June, please read the Notes in the OP about the old Rewards program and especially the bits about point increments.

A couple of other points:

  • You need to be an Office Depot OfficeMax Rewards member to qualify for the Rewards back.
  • There are coupon codes in the OP which will reduce the initial outlay and of course the Rewards back.

To me at least it makes sense to wait to buy until Saturday (July 1) since under the new program all rewards get paid out. On the other hand, by waiting there could conceivably be stock issues at some stores.

But then again, what to do with the rewards I will earn? I already cashed out for boatloads of Forever stamps with previous rewards.

Don't forget when you get your rewards and redeem them, redeem them bit by bit, so you can take advantage of all the penny back-to-school items multiple times. They usually let you have up to 3 penny items of each penny deal with a minimum purchase (I believe it is $10). I got some nice mini-staplers last year for a penny each.

Deals like this make me glad the Staples /Office Depot merger went bust.

Still working for me but the change might still be working thru the system.

B1G1 50% still working for me. That said the other coupon in the OP is 20% off the total order which would make it pay $23.82 get back $20 in Rewards.

Had a little time and discovered that the b1g1 50% off coupon works on 4 of the 5 options. The one it does not work on is:
Pilot G-2 Retractable Fine Point Gel Ink Pens, Fine Point, 0.7 mm, Black Barrel, Black Ink, Pack Of 12 Item # 4054114 $15.79

Thanks OP. I waited until today (the beginning of the new rewrards program) to place my order online so I could get a true 100% payout and not have to earn multiples of $10 anymore. The B1g1 50% coupon is working flawlessly. I paid, as the OP stated, $22.34 before tax. I got two packages of the black, clear barrel G2 pens (Item # 790761). The pens have a very good rating (4.8 stars out of 5) with 51 reviews on the Office Depot site.

I see more Forever postage stamps in my future.

I like that the new rewards program even gives you 2% back for purchases of Office Depot or Max and third party gift cards in addition to postage stamps (within the limits in the terms and conditions):

Members earn 2% back in rewards on everything. The following limits will apply:   Members will receive 2% back in rewards on up to $200 dollars spent per quarter on 3rd party gift cards, on up to $50 spent per quarter on Office Depot® OfficeMax® gift cards and up to $75 dollars spent on U.S. postage stamps per quarter.

Have not been to OD in a long while (the store nearby closed). Can I fully use the reward towards stamp purchase? Are these booklets of 20 stamps each?
Is there any other minimum spend to do just this reward?

Stamps can be paid for with Rewards both in-store and online. Office Depot sells stamps in booklets of 20 and rolls of 100.

Online purchases for delivery incur a processing fee of $1 per 20. So a roll of 100 would have a $5 processing fee.

No processing fee for online orders for in-store pickup.

I have run into a cashier or two who will not allow stamps to be paid for with Rewards.

THE FOLLOWING ONLY APPLIES TO PURCHASES OF THIS OFFER ON 07/01/2017. If your purchase was made prior to 07/01/2017, the Rewards points earned will be paid out with all other points earned in June in a Rewards Certificate made available in the middle of July.

The terms and conditions of the new Rewards program include the following section on Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Bonus Rewards Promotions

  • Periodically, Members can earn additional rewards on purchases of select products through bonus rewards promotions. Members are subject to the terms and conditions of each bonus rewards promotion.
  • Rewards for bonus rewards promotions are paid out the day after the purchase posts to a Member’s account as a reward certificate for the full value of rewards earned. All rewards can be redeemed in accordance with the "Rewards" Section above.

* - The underlining is my add.

I contacted Rewards Customer Service yesterday quoting the above terms and conditions asking where were my Rewards Certificates from the pen and paper Bonus Rewards Promotions. The initial reply was that the Rewards Certificates from the Bonus Rewards would be made available sometime after the quarter's end. I replied with basically the same note again asking where were my Rewards Certificates and if they were not going to be paid out according to the terms, why not. The second reply basically said I was correct but be patient as the program is new ....

Anyway, the Rewards Certificate from the Bonus Rewards I earned from the 07/01 purchase of the 100% back in Rewards Pilot Pens offer has posted. (The Rewards Certificate from the X-9 paper Bonus Rewards for a purchase on the same date has not.) The expiration date of the certificate is 12/31/2017.

I ordered Pilot pens online on July 1. My $22.34 from the Pilot Pens offer is showing as pending, but not yet available. I wonder why yours is available and mine is not.

The timing of when the Rewards are made available is, according to the terms, based on when the transaction posts to the Rewards account. My guess is that is based on when the order ships. I placed my order just after midnight on 07/01 ( email order confirmation Sat 07-01, 00:36 ) and I received my shipping notice later that day ( Sat 07-01, 12:34 ). By that evening, my order had posted to my Rewards "Rewards Activity".
