Anyone have experience with these types of carpet cleaners?

I got a quote from a local service for $400 bucks and it was the downstairs only. I could buy 4 of these.

I don't have this exact model, but a very similar one.  There's something extremely satisfying about seeing all the black, dirty water that you dump out when using one of these machines.  Note that I don't have pets and don't wear shoes in the house.  Carpet is disgusting, I can't wait to swap it out with wood floors.  But in the meantime, I'd say one of these machines is essential to do occasional cleaning.  The pros are probably better, but 4x better?  I don't know.

I was hoping this can also do hard floor. Anybody know it it would work?

Costco has something that look like this for $120.  They claim it can do both carpet and hardfloor.  I wonder if it's the same model but different marketing.  https://www.costco.com/Hoover-Power-Scrub-Deluxe-Multi-floor-Carpet-Washer.product.100277485.html
Seems like the only difference is that Costco come with a   Multi-Floor Squeegee.

The manual for this model (FH50130) say that is is NOT for use on bare floors of any kind, only carpets. If you look through the Q&A section, this question is asked several times. Numerous customers' and Hoover reps' replies to such questions also say that it should not be used on floors without carpets. I believe they have a line of products with "FloorMate" in the name intended for bare floors like tile, laminate, wood, etc. (in addition to their multi-floor and some of their dual-v models).
