T-Mobile released a wireless router rebranded from the RT-AC68U. The T-Mobile rebranded version has a custom proprietary firmware that is modified for optimizing the T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling feature.

DD-WRT info the Cellspot is a hobbled RT-AC68U that can be upgraded to a fully functional RT-AC68U.
AdvancedTomato firmware option

I believe it was available as new for a long time at that price at T-Mobile. Got one and modded it to Tomato and dd-wrt.
In fact, you might need to downgrade it first to older firmware to enable Telnet before you can flash any open firmware. New firmware has telnet disabled.
The original Asus-wrt (T-Mobile) will do just fine for most people, it was originally built from an old version of dd-wrt.

There's also Merlin firmware for this router. I did the downgrade / switch to Asus firmware. Not too much of a pain.

Would you happen to have info on Sprint SP-AC2015 (ASUS RT-AC66U) router in terms of how to upgrade to fully functional RT-AC66U? The current Sprint's proprietary/custom firmware is quite old.

Thank you.

These open routers are no good. I purchased this router a few months back. Rooted to ASUS f/w. It was great several months, but now the wireless signals started dropping. I did f/w updating, still having problem. Switched f/w to Merlin, still got problem with wireless signal dropped or poor reception.
