thanks so much!!

Smoking, blazing hot, OP.

Serious green for you.

awesome deal, just ordered a T43 last night!

Good one, I found it. Though I don't need one, I already had a 6 and 9 cell battery.

Can it be used in T43/42£¿
And what is the difference between these two different part numbers?

I can be used in T40 T41 T42 R50 R51 I think.

Yes, it can be used in T40, T41, T42 & even T43.

No problem.
I tried to customize T42 and found those two part numbers.
Called IBM CSRs but he was clueless.
He only told me both part numbers brought out the same product.

FWIW, these are fleabaying for $120, so this is SMOKING.

Good post, really need a battery, but no ID <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border=0>

Thanks anyway.

I'd like a battery too. Same problem tho...no code <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border=0>

This is the best price I have ever seen on a genuine IBM 9 cell.

Even aftermarket 9 cells are selling for $100+ and they have spotty quality.

excellent, so does it matter which of those two search ones i use?

How long does a battery last usually?
By year or by recharged times?

armulee is right. It depends on how many cycles the battery runs (i.e. how many times it is charged, drained and recharged).

To maximize the battery life, you shouldn't drain to below 20% that often. If you run it on a full charge, then recharge it before it drops below 20%, you should get at least 250-300 cycles out of it.

Of course, the battery life will slowly degrade with each cycle.

As I mentioned earlier, I'm getting close to 6 hours with wifi turned off on my T42 Pentium M 1.6ghz Dothan, and that's pretty outstanding. I'm getting about 4.7-5 hours with wifi turned on.

This battery is outstanding for road warriors.

One caveat - I use a Brenthaven slim profile case (an amazingly great laptop case, by the way), and the my T42 will not fit in the attached internal padded compartment (with cover closed) with the 9 cell inserted. I have to store the 9 cell in the interior compartment, and travel with the 6 cell inserted.

Thinkpad T42 + Brenthaven Case + 1 6 cell + 2 extra 9 cell batteries = Road Warrior's wet dream!

How much is your Brenthaven Case? Thx.

Thanks OP.

I had purchased a regular battery yesterday but put in an order of two of these extended ones for $20 less than one regular.

I bought it off of eBay from a truly honest seller for $40. The only reason why I didn't get one from Newegg (see below) is because they were sold out at the time.

The best place to get them is Newegg. They have them brand spanking new for $89.

They are the best cases, bar none (IMHO), and I'm very picky. 1) Best protection by a long margin 2) Fits the T40/T42/T43 series like a glove, 3) Plenty of storage, pockets, compartments, etc., 4) Built to last a lifetime.

I looked at almost every case out there, and the Brenthaven is the Cat's ar$e.

Could you give a link at eBay for exact same item?
There are different models there and I am kinda lost. TIA <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border=0>

this one ?

Any battery discount for x30/x31/x32?

wanted to hop in... but eBay is sure going to get flooded. not worth it for me...

sigh... wanted to get replacement bat for my think though

I can't use them with my X31, can I?

Availability: Within 2 weeks

Well, I hope they don't cancel my order.

I am a student of a university which has an EPP signed up with IBM. I bought a T42 using it long time back, but I never entered this info. How to get hold of this information in such a situation? Any help would be appreciated.
