Small drive, 1gb with Vista, ThinkPad X300/X301 Series 3 Cell LiPolymer Battery... what kind of battery life on this? Maybe I don't know.. but, this seems like I've seen much much cheaper for better specs, but don't take my word for it.

Okay -- after rechecking the url links I found this deal... and it is quite good.... I'm sure you have to check out with an AMEX based on the deal origin. It's a great price (lowest I've ever seen) on the x200 tablets, and the x301 too. These would make great college laptops with quality to last 3 or more years, IMO. Good find OP.

<<hmmmm... i'm not getting anywhere searching for this deal.... and i though i was pretty familiar with the ibm site.... anyone else having luck finding this confuguration/price?>>

would've been way hot if it actually existed.

You are complaining about a 128GB SSD?

WOW.

Do you need to be an American Express card holder to use the discounted prices? I just ordered a X200 and the price there is about $200 cheaper.

Actually, the Thinkpad X301 is like the Gold Standard for light-weight durable notebooks.
Price is the best I've seen by $200 or $300.

That said, this model is about a year old.
Specs are showing their age a bit with all the new light-weights emerging.
The 128 SSD would cost you about $350 at Newegg, BTW.

BTW, Lenovo Employee price for this same machine is currently $1,605.65

Well, free drive upgrade to 128GB SSD is no longer a $0 option. They want $180 more.

Earlier today, I went do Len0v0 directly, and was able to get that portion to work.

i called directly and told themm that it says free upgrade for both the ssd hard drive and the battery. so, they knocked off $270 from my bill.

Ordered one. I have been looking for this kind of deal for two months. Thanks a lot.

just place an order. very good deal!
wonder if X302 coming soon.....anyway thanks for the information

Reposted this offering on SD where it is quite HOT.

Big gratitude to kakuya, the OP.

I need to sign up for an AMEX card first -- does anyone know how long this deal will last? It will take me at least 3-4 days to get a card.

Is the deal still active ? would like to get on one...

September 8th
Yea..still decent dale price: $1,178.50
but free SSD and battery upgrades are no longer available.
