Funai, in Japan will make their last VCR in the next few weeks.   At one point, they sold as many as 15 million in a year.  Last year, they only sold 750,000.

Until a year or so ago we had to keep a TV/VCR combo in the office because there was a training video that new staff were required to watch and it wasn't available on any other media.

some people still buy to transfer old home movies.
