I'll have to watch later, once all his equipment is calibrated.

My solution would be just to take a one-minute sample, or whatever sample is enough to go through enough repetitions, count how many claps the monkey does, then multiply that for how many minutes you want to figure out the monkey claps. Just make sure you have new Energizer batteries, so your monkey doesn't slow down his clapping.

  But what if you can --and must -- count the monkey claps only through those 2 yellow wires?
