I want to order customized mugs or other drinkware (travel tumbler, stainless water bottle, etc.) but we only need 12 items and most of the customization companies have much larger quantity minimums or they sell crappy products made in China that we don't want to use anyway.
There is a local shop that makes decals or I think window clings from your designs so I was thinking I could have our graphics manager make a design for me, then buy something like Klean Kanteens or Fiesta mugs and apply the design to the product of my choice. Is this too nutty or what? I would have to determine that the decal, etc. would stand the test of time on the product or consider it to be temporary. True purpose of these items are to be used as part of a new hire orientation. Our corporate office presently sends a "goody bag" via overnight courier consisting of an assortment of crap with our company logo that has been ordered for trade shows. Stuff like no-name lip balm, cheapie bike bottles, etc.It must cost the company $25-$30 to prepare and ship this garbage to our office. Some of the other offices love it, but we do not.

Thanks again in advance for helping me do my job. If you insist on receiving credit for your assistance, please let me know.

decals is bad idea. i don't think they will wear well. a lot of places of smaller minimum quantities, will just more.

Agreed. I wasn't thinking about them as a forever solution. More as a gesture of welcome to new staff, who could remove the decal or window cling when appropriate.

I still have my first piece of corporate swag. A bank of America coffee mug.

We were a customer of theirs at a job I was at a few jobs ago. The relationship soured, boa was replaced I've switched jobs a few times since, but I'll still be bringing that mug to the next job.

My favorite swag was in a kit from. A Vegas company called shift4. Shitty mints with their logo on them.

Thanks! It's challenging to consider all sides in a promo item selection. I really wanted our company logo and our office location both on the item, but then it limits the order size compared to if I only ordered the item with company logo.
I like the FW mug design and use it frequently, but at work I use a Peet's logo klean kanteen insulated tumbler. That thing keeps my coffee burning hot for 4-5 hours.

What are you trying to say here? "When appropriate", meaning when they are fired? That is why it doesn't matter if it doesn't wear well?

"when appropriate:" meaning these customizations won't last through dishwasher washing, etc. and will have to be removed but that the product they are applied to are of a superior quality than what most of the customization websites offer. So I could buy a Contigo, S'Well or Klean Kanteen bottle and apply our logo for a small batch as a perk to our staff.
