Satan Rosa! Bad traffic, hot weather.

Go west to Point Reyes, which is one of my favorite areas of all time. Walk down to the lighthouse, although the walk up almost killed me the first time (308 steps). The views are so fabulous. Lots of hiking trails to various skill levels. The teeny town of Point Reyes Station has some good food and drink plus a yurt if you want to spend a night or 2 out there. Windsong yurt. and I think there is a smaller property as well with an outdoor jacuzzi. It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere but it isn't far from town.

In Petaluma I haven't been here, but heard it is really good: Risibisi

If you are a spa guy, Osmosis Day Spa is very beautiful and serene. I think it's in the town of Occidental. There are good places to eat/drink in Sebastopol, too.

Drake's Beach on Point Reyes is where the (now) Mrs. ganda fell into my trap, so if you have that in mind for the current GF, my sample size of one says it's a 100% successful location.

Your GF is seeing kamal? Damn! All that late night dessert and all...

Welcome to my neck of the woods. Might want to try Hopmonks in Sebastobol http://www.hopmonk.com/sebastopol/ pretty good food and beers and then head out to the coast to get away from the heat. If you like BBQ Fri-Sun I believe open from 11:30 to 2PM is some damn good brisket only outdoor seating at Bills market 10315 Bodega Hwy, Sebastopol, CA 95472. Lots of good breweries, Russian River brewing if you are ok waiting in line and Beer Republic brewery in Healdsburg and they just opened a place in Rohnert Park, and Cooperage are some of my favorites.

If you cook or bake there is a Penzey's Spice Shop in Santa Rosa and if you end up in Napa there is a spice shop in the Oxbow Public Market.

Great, I've been meaning to check it out, Racer 5 is one of my favorites. That spot is really great with the outdoor area used to be a bar that I frequented back in the days.

did the lagunitas tour today. met some travelers that are planning on going to SD soon. gave some tips

also had some huevos a la mexicana at el charro. not bad

rated:
went to bodega bay and waded in the ocean and the nearby inlet. then went to san fran and had pizza and beer at ragazza. also had my first (and second) drive across the golden gate bridge. then checked out fisherman's wharf

sry no pics

ETA: also went by a place in santa rosa (technically in bodega) and saw the church from the schoolhouse scene in the birds. awesomeness

rated:
here's some randomness - these fire hydrants are all over the place. they look like bad robot

Hey, while you're out there can you mow some deadbeat's lawn? And pee "BELOIT" on it for good measure.

spent some of yesterday and last night in healdsburg. nice little town with wineries and stuff. climbed a bigass coyote metal structure thing in front of wilson's, then went to willi's raw bar for some fish & chips (salmon) and ceviche. then drove around sebastopol and cotati

back in SD now. took 2.5 hr to drive 45 min away. i guess everyone wanted to go to san fran for their day away from labor. flight was delayed (thanks, san fran!). but i got a free beer out of it. so i guess i'm ahead of the game. fat tire...yum
