My husband has been wanting this guitar for a while. We have a guitar center by us so I figured I would tell his and my family to get him gift certificates there for Christmas. Well my parents and my brother and sister each got him a gift certificate to Guitar Center. His family went online to guitarcenter.com and purchased gift certificates. The problem is guitarcenter.com does not have an online shop so when you click to purchase something it links you to MusiciansFriend.com. Now he has gift certificates to both guitar center and MusiciansFriend.com and neither will accept the others certificates. He doesnt care if he gets the guitar online or in the store but he wants his gift certificates to be used all in one place. The guitar center website is very deceiving.
Any suggestions?

Have you called guitar center and told them how dissatisfied you are?

Yes. Maybe we will take a ride there today. They just say that they are 2 different stores and you cant use the gift certificates at either. I think they are owned by the same people though. I spoke to Musicians friend and they said I would need to call back to speak to a supervisor but they doubt there is anything they can do.

Well after calling Musicians friend and going to Guitar Center and speaking to an assistant manager, they both said their is nothing we could do and pretty much blew us off. I made a call to Guitar Center and spoke to the store manager. He was so nice and helpful. He was able to refund the Guitar Center gift certificates so Dan could get his guitar from Musician's friend. It definitely paid for them to be so helpful because Im sure this is not the last guitar he'll be getting, so we will definitely go back and buy from them again.

I luv happy endings <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>
