I'm interested in buying an iPhone 7 through Best Buy's Sprint deal currently being offered. The deal requires 24 month installment plan on Sprint.

My question:
Is it possible to avoid early termination fee if I cancel Sprint's service after 1 month?

I sign up as a new Sprint customer (with new line), activate the line, sign up for the 24-month installment plan but then immediately pay off the balance on the phone so there are no balance left for the device.

You know the 24 month price should be about the same as buying it outright? Might be cheaper to buy on eBay direct.
As well as not paying the $150 ETF

I believe Sprint has a 30 day satisfaction guarantee - They used to anyway. Thing is the monthly payment plan is usually a LEASE of the phone. Make sure your action is a PURCHASE. Sister was unhappy to learn her deal was a LEASE and cash buyout at the end of the lease.
My personal bet is Sprint has considered people doing as you are considering and gamed the system to have Sprint come out ahead and people like you sorry they thought of it.
